SV4401A – Quick Fix for Constant +3 dB Gain Error

It’s not unusual for the default calibration file 0.cal to become corrupted, and when that happens, any subsequent calibration will fail as well. To prevent this, it's a good idea to save a valid calibration as 1.cal (or under any other name).

So, when you notice dB values greater than zero, simply restore the saved calibration:

MENU → File → Select file 1.cal → Press Open

Note:
If your only calibration file is 0.cal and it turns out to be corrupted, the best solution is to:

  1. Reflash the same firmware version you're currently using
  2. Then follow the steps above to create and save a valid 1.cal file
